POACHED PEAR PORRIDGE
Ingredients
3 Bosc Pears
1/2 cup rolled oats
240ml (1 cup) water or any milk
120ml (1/2 cup) orange juice
15ml (1 tbsp) maple syrup
5g (1 tsp) cinnamon
15ml (1 tbsp) coconut oil
60ml (1/4 cup) almond milk - homemade recipe in blog
Direction
Cook oats in a pot (1 part oats to 1 part water), in a separate pot boil water and add orange juice, maple syrup, and cinnamon (you can add more spices if you’d like). In the meantime peel the pears. Once the liquid comes to a boil, add the pears and simmer for 15 minutes. In a blender add the oats, pear, coconut oil, a splash of almond milk and blend. The amount of each depends on the level of sweetness you prefer. Add almond milk slowly and check consistency after blending. My toddler likes hers a little runnier than my baby so i adjust to their preference accordingly. Pour porridge into a bowl and add half a poached pear. Sprinkle some cinnamon powder and serve.
